Teaching riding and being able to share my knowledge and enthusiasm of all things equine to children through to adults is one of my great enjoyments. Learning the basics of riding is a vital step before diversifying into specialised fields. It is essential that everyone learns the basics of leg aides, balance, and control without hanging onto your mount’s mouth. The fully enclosed large arena is excellent for promoting rider confidence. It is large enough for riders to practice their skills in an open space while at the same time offering a safety net of an enclosed area. The small arena is excellent for teaching beginner riders and for encouraging those riders to learn to halt and turn their mounts. My centre is very fortunate to have the most wonderful school horses available, they are all very responsive, experienced, forward moving, quiet and very gentle for those more timid, but very keen persons wanting to learn to ride.
Dungog Horse “N” Training Centre not only caters for those persons who live locally, but also caters for people who live in Regional, Metropolitan and indeed international areas.
My centre also provides education for the more experienced rider. I have hosted training days for riders that have represented in various disciplines at Zone, Regional, State and National level. Many of my clients have excelled in their chosen fields after attending these days and refining their skills.
My lesson structure is as follows:
Canteen facilities are available for lunch, along with a scrumptious sausage sizzle at very affordable prices.
By popular demand, Dungog Horse “N” Training Centre now has the facilities to enable an overnight stay, which a two day school can be hosted on request.
Campdrafting schools are generally conducted in the school holidays, however if needed I can organise a weekend at a mutually convenient time.
